June Events 2022
In June, The Living Library is hosting our beloved elder, Abuelo Conejo Yohualtochtli. for a month of wisdom exchange around plants, cosmopolitics and carrying the sacred way. The Living Library is blessed to have our work guided by great elders and keepers of wisdom who come to us as vectors of the plant kingdom so that we can be in the greatest service to Mother Earth. Abuelo Conejo and Abuela Tania will be joining us once again to share their sacred teachings that explore the vast cultural knowledge contained within medicinal plants and instruct us in the way of ceremony and prayer.
Abuelo Conejo is not only a powerful Healer and Indigenous Elder but also holds a PHD in Anthropology with focus on Indigenous studies. He is the tip of the arrow for the Ome Tlanezi community serving the Danza del Sol, as well as a Traditional Medic and Temazcaltiani (Temaazcal Master) with more than 26 years of offering as Sun Dancer.
He doesn't serve medicine. He is medicine in the presence that he carries. We are blessed to receive these teaching in such pure form. These are the teachings that weave a basin for us to hold all the work we do at the Library, for preserving sacred plant life requires us to also be the carriers of their stories. To know the people that kept these seeds safe & the songs they sang is a true gift of intergenerational knowledge.
This series of workshops, ceremonies and gathering culminates with the Sacred Fire
